Our client, a global mining powerhouse, is seeking to engage an experienced Technical Writer. As the Technical Writer, you will support and actively contribute to the development and improvement of the asset management knowledge material suite. This will be achieved through a team-based approach to building the right knowledge that targets the right levels in the organisation. Simplification is key and building content that is easy to understand, remember and apply is key to success.

  • You will have and can demonstrate a genuine passion for reimaging the status quo and challenging paradigms to help shape the future of Asset Management content.
  • You can engage with various stakeholders to draw out complexity and transform this into more simplified and easily digestible content
  • You will also be proficient in the Microsoft Suite of tools namely Word, Power Point, Excel and Visio.
  • Prepare, review, revise and maintain a broad range of technical Asset Management documents
  • Develop and deploy templates to engage and promote a consistent document structure and style
  • Prepare and manage to an agreed style guide
  • Ensure quality that includes technical accuracy, layout grammar and style before submitting
  • Proficient in the simplification of technical language and the application of graphics and images to convey and or reinforce key messages and concepts.
  • You can work as part of a team to bring ideas to life and are prepared to discuss and promote ideas.
  • You can interview subject matter experts and efficiently capture their subject in a way that can be efficiently transposed into clear and simple written and visual content.
  • You can playback your work and are prepared to discuss and apply feedback.
  • Your comfortable working in groups and can appropriately identify opportunities to support, participate and lead when required.
  • A trade or engineering background in the resources sector is highly desirable
  • High levels of competency with the Microsoft suite of tools, namely: Word, Power Point, Excel and Visio
  • Demonstrated awareness of copyright and intellectual property requirements is essential
  • Exquisite English, grammar, spelling and communication skills
  • A background in journalism would also be considered
  • Previous experience producing standards, guidelines, manuals, process flows, and other Asset Management technical documentation is key.
  • To be successful in this role you will have a good understanding of asset management principles, process and of the AS ISO 55001: 2014.
  • Time spent in the mining and or resources sector would also be an advantage
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
