Assessment Officer

Description:

About us

The NSW Police Force (NSWPF) is one of the largest police forces in the western world, with more than 20,000 employees, including more than 4,000 administrative employees who support the sworn officers that provide a range of law and order services 24 hours a day, seven days a week to the socially, geographically and culturally diverse community of NSW.

About the role

We have an opportunity for nineteen (19) Assessment Officers to be part of our Child Wellbeing Unit (CWU) team within the Communications and Security Command. The Assessment Officer reviews NSWPF COPS child at risk reports that are disseminated to the Unit for action. The role conducts analysis of such reports and where applicable, disseminates information to the appropriate authorities and makes referrals where required.

The CWU is currently identified as a Temporary Unit, however, it has been identified as such since its inception in 2009.

A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a prerequisite for this role. The applicant is responsible for applying their own WWCC (an employer cannot apply on behalf of workers) and if the outcome is a clearance, the Check is valid for five years and may be used for any child-related work in NSW.
