Student Support and Specialist Programs

The Student Support and Specialist Programs Directorate is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of state-wide services and specialist programs to support student engagement and opportunities including Arts, Sport, Community Languages and International programs.

The Assisted School Travel Program provides transportation services for students with additional needs from home to school and back to ensure all students are able to access education in NSW public schools.

Student opportunities across all areas are enhanced through partnerships with industry specialists and stakeholders

The Arts Unit

The Arts Unit offers an innovative and holistic vision for the arts in NSW public schools, with diverse opportunities available in dance, drama. music, visual arts, debating, public speaking, reading, spelling and special events.

As a leader in arts education, The Arts Unit promotes student achievement, equity and expression in a variety of settings, enriching school communities and reducing the impact of disadvantage.

About the role

The Arts Initiatives Support Officer provides clerical services and administrative assistance, playing a significant role in the delivery of the Arts Initiatives programs and associated events to students and teachers in public schools around NSW. The Arts Initiatives Support Officer participates as an active and effective member of the Arts, Sport and Initiatives team.
