Description:
This position requires media and/or communications experience, preferably in a government environment, along with tertiary qualifications in strategic communications, public relations, marketing, digital communications or a related field.
To be successful you will have high-level strategic thinking, and strong writing, editing and content creation skills. You will have strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and perform in a high-paced environment. You will exercise sound judgement, demonstrate active listening, and have a high degree of initiative.
- Work with your Senior Communications Officer and Assistant Director to support the development and delivery of communication strategies and campaigns.
- Assist in coordinating implementation and evaluation of communication strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Write/edit content for a broad range of communication channels, including web, social media, digital channels, media and public relations activities, marketing and information products.
- Support the production of media products that influence and inform government, Ministers, and the public.
- Proactively identify communication opportunities and assist in the creation of materials.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate organisation, time management and attention to detail with the ability to balance multiple projects to deliver desired outcomes.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have the ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- More than two years' experience working in a media and/or strategic communications role.
- Strong strategic communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Sound judgment and an ability to work under pressure.
- An ability to form strong and productive working relationships.
- Be able to work as part of a small team, as well as across various project teams.
- Ability to learn new IT systems quickly and efficiently.
- Demonstrated personal drive and integrity while achieving results.
- Ability to manage and prioritise competing issues and activities.
