Description:
The Agriculture Customer Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customer and stakeholders in the agriculture sector, coordinating Bureau communications with the sector, monitoring weather and climate hazards, and pursuing opportunities to augment existing Bureau services to deliver more value and impact to agriculture customers.
The Agriculture Customer Lead will develop and document a detailed understanding of weather, water and climate hazards/opportunities with respect to different agricultural sectors, regions and seasons. They will monitor current conditions, forecasts and outlooks to identify impacts to customers and develop processes to ensure they are communicated through the Bureau's core communication channels, governments, media, and industry partners. They will prepare briefings, information packs and routine products to support communication efforts.
The Agriculture Customer Lead will have experience in meteorology and climatology, and/or experience working in the natural resources and agriculture sector. They will be a strong written and verbal communicator, and have advanced skills in relationship building and engagement. They will be flexible and able to support broader initiatives in the Agriculture and Water Program.
The Agriculture Customer Lead may be given responsibilities for owning a particular segment of the agriculture industry. These responsibilities would extend to developing deep relationships with industry leaders, delivery partners and farmers, and informing the Bureau's strategy for new and modified agricultural services.
