Adviser Triage And Support

 

Description:

Working as part of a newly formed team internally known as Safe Station, this role is responsible for providing independent, compassionate and human-centred support to employees involved in a workplace complaints. This role reports to the Team Leader, Safe Station.

You will provide support and guidance to employees throughout the complaint process (including complainants, witnesses and respondents) with a key focus on employees’ wellbeing and mental health.

The Safe Station team will play an important part in sculpting the organisation’s culture by supporting initiatives that create an environment of trust, inclusion and support for people across Queensland Rail.

 

 

Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving and assessing workplace complaints, ensuring that all matters are treated consistently, with respect and confidentiality.
  • Determining the nature of the complaint, concern or conflict including the relevant stakeholders, impacts and the desired outcomes.
  • Offering confidential support to any person/s involved during the complaints process, with consideration for stakeholders’ wellbeing and mental health.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders across People and Culture and the broader Queensland Rail business to create and maintain a safe, supportive and healthy workplace culture.
  • Supporting the facilitation of relevant training and other relevant initiatives that create an environment of trust, inclusion and support for people across Queensland Rail.

About you

This position requires a proactive, compassionate quick thinker; a person who exemplifies our organisational values and enjoys thinking outside the box to provide support to employees.

  • High level of problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience and specialist skills in addressing bullying, harassment, including sexual harassment and trauma.
  • Qualifications in counselling or social work are highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary HR frameworks and principles and their practical application within a large, complex and diverse organisation.
  • High level of interpersonal, consultation, relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate and listen, guide and support employees facing challenging situations.
