About the role

Townsville Catholic Education Office is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Administration Assistant - Indigenous Education Emerging Leaders Project. This is a full time, one year fixed term contract.

The primary responsibility of the role is to provide quality, timely and efficient coordination and administration support to the Emerging Leaders Project Officer and Indigenous Education Advisers who are working with the Emerging Leaders Project. The Administration Assistant – Indigenous Education Emerging Leaders Project performs a full range of secretarial and administrative support functions, including prompt, courteous and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and functional delivery of services.

The role holder will be required to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in the performance of all duties and the ability to prioritise the work demands from the Emerging Leaders Project Officer and Indigenous Education Advisers to ensure deadlines are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ability to work as a team member with a high level of autonomy to manage daily workloads and to contribute towards achieving the goals of Townsville Catholic Education
  • Proficiency in providing quality, timely and efficient coordination of general administration support in a busy environment
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders and members of the public and parish
  • Proficiency utilising information systems (G Suite) and the ability to rapidly acquire demonstrated proficiency in the application of other information systems
  • Effective customer-focused service within a confidential working environment
