Accounts Assistant

 

Description:

Our client is an Australian-based marketing and insights consultancy that provide guidance and advice to a diverse range of businesses, which is grounded in consumer evidence. They are on the hunt for an experienced Accounts Assistant to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions in our Melbourne and Sydney businesses while our current team member is on parental leave.

The Role

  • Accounts Receivable functions, including preparing and emailing invoices to clients, and proactively following up on overdue invoices
  • Accounts Payable functions, including processing of supplier invoices and liaising with colleagues and suppliers where there are issues
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card accounts
  • Assisting with month-end processes and reporting
  • Recording journal entries
  • Assisting with BAS and IAS returns, attending to bookkeeper’s queries in a timely manner
  • Setup and maintenance of clients and suppliers in MYOB
  • Use of clients’ procurement platforms to source purchase orders and submit invoices, where required by our clients (eg BQMS, Ariba, Coupa, Tradeshift, etc)

  • 2 years+ experience in a similar Accounts role would be highly desirable
  • Confident personality that enjoys speaking to key stakeholders
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • High attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with MYOB
