Our Gen Re Australia Life team is seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to be based in their Sydney office as the Head of Account Management and Business Development.

 

Your Role

As the Head of Account Management and Business Development you will be a critical part of the Gen Re Life Australia executive team, and responsible for the development of our Life Australian & New Zealand book of business. This is a self-starting, client relationship role to build new business and develop strong successful relationships, not only with clients but within the organisation. You will report to the Managing Director of Gen Re Life Australia and work closely with the Head of Segment based in South Africa.

You will have an analytical mindset and a reputation as an industry leader and trusted advisor to your clients. You will proactively contribute to and promote a collaborative culture while exuding a sense of purpose and responsibility as a recognised and admired leader of Gen Re Life Australia.

As the Head of Account Management, you will:

  • Nurture and develop current client relationships and acquire new clients
  • Manage and build our client portfolio to maximize profits
  • Lead the negotiation of treaties and addenda
  • Enhance and promote the Gen Re brand throughout the Australasian market
  • Participate in general management and be a key contributor to the strategy of the company
  • Development and implement policies & procedures within the Client Account Management Team
  • Oversee the workflow of the Client Account Management Team
  • Foster a supportive and result-oriented environment

Your Profile

  • Proven experience generating profitable opportunities in line with strategy
  • Detailed knowledge and relationships within the insurance and reinsurance industry
  • Business or actuarial qualifications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interact, communicate and influence at all levels, internal and external
  • Demonstrated people leadership and management skills
  • Experience operating in a global matrix structure
