An exciting role is available at Swinburne University of Technology for an AccessAbility Advisor! Reporting to the Team Leader of AccessAbility Services, this role will be pivotal in assessment, delivery and coordination of services to students with whom the university is required to negotiate adjustments for their learning.

The AccessAbility Advisor will work closely with a wide range of academic and administrative staff, as well as with external agency providers of services to ensure that there are efficient resources within the university for adjustments. This role plays an important part in facilitating access and participation to tertiary studies for students, to enhance educational opportunity and positive graduate outcomes.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation pertaining to the rights of people living with disability and the responsibilities of educational institutions
  • Demonstrated skill in computerised data management, accurate data entry and record keeping
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a wide range of clientele, to negotiate on disability support or reasonable adjustment issues and to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal and advanced communication skills, both written and oral, and an ability to conduct seminars and workshops to students and staff
